The Lighting Ceremony of the National Menorah on the Ellipse is far and away the most covered Chanukah event on the planet.
Nearly all major networks, as well their affiliates across the country, cover this event every year, in advance of, on the day of, and even after the event has passed, either in live broadcasts, nightly news programs or specials done.


The event also garners significant interest from overseas news networks, with many sending news crews and satellite equipment to the site to ensure they don’t miss this annual sensation.
